It’s been 9 months since the release of Android 12 and brands are constantly releasing the stable updates for their flagship and old devices. Android 12 was released on October 4, 2021, developed by Google.

Following the Pixel 6 event in October, Google released the Android 12 stable version after releasing five betas. For most of the Google Pixel devices, Google has released Android 12. When Google unveiled the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro in October of last year, they were the only devices that could use A12.

Users with A12 phones will have access to all the OS’s features, such as the Material You design, security, cool widgets, etc. The complete list of Google products that can be updated to Android 12 is shown below:

Samsung

Samsung releases updates at an amazing rate, and hundreds of devices have already received the One UI 4 update. It’s very astonishing how much ground Samsung has gained on its rivals. Even the official One UI 4 roadmap has not kept up with it.

The company released the first stable Android 12 update on 15th November, 2021.

In addition to Google, Samsung was one of the first producers to release A12 for the majority of its products. When it comes to releasing Android updates for its smartphones, Samsung has always lagged behind. With its One UI 4 Form, Samsung has already advanced Android 12 after a protracted period of modest progress. The company is prepared to go past the Galaxy S21 series after completing the beta testing phase.

Realme has also revealed Realme UI 3.0, its own Android 12 version, along with other IT behemoths and producers. Realme does not offer Material You, similar to ColorOS and MiUi. The company is shifting its attention back to the animation process and the thoughtful use of white space.

A lengthy list of Tecno’s products that will receive the Android 12 update has not been released. The Tecno Camon 17 and Tecno Phantom X will receive the Android 12 upgrade, the manufacturer has stated. Other than these two, no Tecno smartphones have received formal confirmation that they will receive the most recent Android upgrade. Just over a year ago, in March 2021, Micromax introduced the third smartphone in its new IN smartphone family. The Micromax IN1 shipped with Android 10 out of the box and promised to receive frequent Android OS updates. We all know that Micromax hasn’t been able to provide upgrades for the IN1 directly to Android 12 yet due to unidentified reasons, but it now appears that they won’t need much time.

The Bottom Line

Android 12 was officialy released by Google in October 2021 and since then, brands have been racing their way to the next OS release, the Android 13. While some brands are regularly updating their flagship devices, others are struggling to stay in this market due to huge competition. The only way they could make a comeback is by meeting the customer needs and demands at this point.
