OnePlus 8 Pro Software update

OnePlus officially rolled out the OxygenOS 11 Iterative Update for OnePlus 8 Pro with the device getting the OxygenOS 11.0.10.10 along with the December 2021 Security Patch this update also fixes the issues in the UI Display in setting interface, with a fix in Google Assistant and GPay in the Setup Wizard and the low probability issue of WhatsApp crash.

OnePlus 8 Pro was released in April 2020 with an Android 10 out-of-the-box.

Previously it was running on October 2021 Security Patch, which had brought Files by Google app along with the security patch, that's a bit of a new thing in the OTA build, where new apps are getting bundled through a software update.

One thing to note, the community & users of Oneplus 8 Pro are disappointed with the new update even though the update particularly says a fix in the UI display of the Settings Interface.

But, a ton of users reported the issues have not been resolved and we can see the image posted below from a OnePlus 8 user posted on the community there has been a concern in the OnePlus software team lately regarding the quality of software updates. we have attached an image of the UI Bug in the Oneplus 8 post

OnePlus 8 Software Update

OnePlus Nord 2 Software Update:

OnePlus released December 2021 Security Patch for OnePlus Nord 2, along with further optimization on the system performance and behaviour of the device this update was released on 25th of December 2021, for India & Other Regions carrying A.15 Build, the update size is ~346 MB.

This update brings improvements in video stability in AI Enhancement mode, as well as brings a fix in Bluetooth devices where calls were unclear when connected.

OnePlus Nord 2 was released in July 2021 with Android 11, OxygenOS 11.3 out-of-the-box.

Just recently, the OnePlus 9 & 9 Pro, Got the latest android 12 builds with OxygenOS 12, they have mentioned the timeline we may expect the Other Older flagship & Nord Series will get. As per the OnePlus officials and community experts, Most devices will start the beta program in First Quarter 2022 and by the end or beginning of the 2nd Quarter, most devices will run stable Android 12.

Oneplus has started to push the incremental rollout of Oxygen OS 11.0.5.1 for Oneplus 7T devices with the December 2021 Security Patch. It has also resolved an issue in WhatsApp where users were not able to send and receive files.

Oneplus 6T Software Update:

Oneplus released the latest build of OxygenOS 11.1.2.2 based on Android 11 with a November 2021 security patch via OTA for Oneplus 6T. This update brings only last month security patch, Although a lot of users have mentioned the final OTA update for the device.

Oneplus has not confirmed yet, whether this device will get the latest Android 12 Build with OxygenOS 12, It's highly unlikely it will get it, As Oneplus has not yet mentioned anything about 6T users, maybe until next year they might receive a security patch.

It's already been 3 years since the device was launched, It has already received two OS upgrades and counting this security patch as the latest build, It accounts for 3 years of Security Patch updates.

This device has received two major OS update, and its highly unlikely it will get Android 12 update due to Oneplus 6 receiving three major OS upgrade, This device is bit different than OP6 but Oneplus has paired this device together, and rolled updates at the same time for both the versions.

Most probably this will be the last OTA this device gets, as it's almost been 3 years or so since the device was launched although its sibling Oneplus 6T had only 2 received 2-OS upgrades to date, the OG 6 Series should be happy about this.

Oneplus 6 Software Update:

Oneplus released the latest build of OxygenOS 11.1.2.2 based on Android 11 with a November 2021 security patch via OTA for Oneplus 6. This update brings only last month security patch, Although a lot of users have mentioned the last OTA update for the device.

Oneplus has not confirmed it yet, we might see a few more security patches next year, So as to claim they have supported the Oneplus 6 up to 4 years. The original Oneplus 6 was launched in May 2018, So this coming year May 2022 will account for 4 years this is just our theory we might be wrong here.

This device has received three major OS update, and its highly unlikely it will get Android 12 update, Only few security updates and it will end of updates for this device.

Most probably this will be the last OTA this device gets, as it's almost been 3 years or so since the device was launched although its sibling Oneplus 6T had only 2 received 2-OS upgrades to date, the OG 6 Series should be happy about this.

Oneplus 9R Software Update:

OnePlus has begun the incremental rollout of the 11.2.6.6 update for the Oneplus 9R along with the November 2021 Security Patch and improvements in the system

OnePlus 9R was released on 14th April, 2021 with Android 11 out of the box .

Previous update: OnePlus 9R: OxygenOS 11.2.5.5 with September 2021 Security Patch

This update brings with it November 2021 security patches, bug fixes and other minor improvements. Similarly the Oneplus 9 & Oneplus 9 Pro got the latest security patch iterative OxygenOS 11 improvements. Still, the Android 12 with OxygenOS 12 is yet to be rolled to the Oneplus 9 Series of devices.

How long will it get updates?

This is a Software update for the OnePlus 9 Pro and not the major/stable OS update as it already has an Android 11 OS.

The OnePlus 9 Pro will receive three years of major OS updates and four years of Security updates.

Therefore, Android 12 will be the first major OS update on this device and it is also eligible to be on the Android 13 and Android 14 update list as well.
