ColorOS 12 – Unveiled in China

ColorOS 12 based on Android 12 is finally coming to the devices. Oppo has just unveiled the ColorOS 12, giving an idea of what to expect from this update. Right now only the Chinese market is supposed to get. And we are yet to see Global ColorOS 12 Details.

About ColorOS

ColorOS is an updated Android Skin from OPPO which comes in with a series of tweaks and designs. It used to be similar to major smartphone giants in the industry, But in recent years they have made their own polished UI

What to look for in this Upgrade?

->Visual Upgrades :

• Overhauled the UI on the basis of Infinite Design Concept.
• No borders used for separation, Instead a translucent layer called ‘Acrylic Sheet’
• Squi-circled Icons called ‘Acrylic Icons’
• Placement of UI elements got refined and spaced to manage Information density better
• Increase in contrast when it comes to text to give comfortable experience to user
• Flex drop feature improved allowing multitasking by just dragging the apps with simple gestures.
• Smart Sidebar 2.0 with six new tools
  • They help play songs quickly from web in the music player app
  • compare prices on ecommerce sites
• New Cross-Screen Interconnection feature – simplify connectivity between Phones and PC’s
• New Car Screen Projection features in COLOR OS 12
  • Offer support to third party apps like Kuwo ,Ximalaya, Baidu,Maps, Auto Navi etc.,

Animation and performance

Oppo has made some significant performance improvements to ensure users have a great experience while using COLOR OS 12 on their devices.

• OPPO’s Quantum animation 3.0 engine brings with it 300 improved animations to the software,giving users a smooth experience
• In a bid to address lag and stutters across UI
  • Inclusion of Anti-stutter AI engine in COLOR OS 12
    • This engine also recommends priorities for apps
• COLOR OS 12 also came out with it’s own Emoji avatar feature -“Omoji”

Improved Privacy & Security Features

ColorOS 12 comes up with new privacy and security features that will:

• notify users when app uses Phone’s microphone,camera/location
• permission reminder will send out notifications to prevent third party apps from collecting BG data
• Addition of secure sharing feature removes metadata from images while sharing

Oneplus:

The Chinese market is supposed the get the ColorOS 12 instead of the in-famous OxygenOS, We are yet to get confirmation on the Global market, and OxygenOS 12 is here to stay in the Global market until 2022.

OnePlus and Oppo are working on "Unified Global Operating System" combing features of both ColorOS and OxygenOS.
