Infinix Mobile is a Hong Kong-based smartphone company founded in 2013. Infinix Android 12 Update list, The Infinix Android smartphones are a hit with its users due to the availability of the specifications in their budget range. Infinix has launched many smartphones with Android 11, Android 10, which makes this OEM’s devices eligible for the upcoming Android 12.

Android 12 will be the twelfth major release and 19th version of Android, the mobile operating system developed by the Open Handset Alliance led by Google. Android 12 developer preview was officially announced in an Android blog posted on February 18, 2021. Google described the Android 12 as, “the biggest design change in Android’s history” called the Material You.

XOS: Infinix’s mobile operating system

XOS is an Android-based operating system developed by Hong Kong mobile phone manufacturer Infinix Mobile exclusively for their smartphones. XOS allows for a wide range of user customization without requiring rooting the mobile device.

The first release for this was introduced as XUI in 2015 and later as XOS in 2016. The latest release for XOS is the XOS 7.1 which was released in May 2021 which runs on Android 11.

This operating system comes with utility applications that allow users to protect their privacy, improve speed, enhance experience among others. XOS comes with features like; XTheme, Scan to Recharge, Split Screen and XManager.

So far, we have no clue of when XOS Android 12 update may arrive

Infinix Android 12 Update List

Infinix was not on the developer program preview list for Android 12 Beta. Hence, the Android 12 is currently unavailable on its smartphones. But, the eligible Infinix devices are expected to receive the major Android 12 update once it is officially released. Below are the two lists which display which show which Infinix devices may receive the Android 12 update.

Infinix devices released with Android 11

The Infinix smartphones released with an Android 11 out-of-the-box are automatically eligible for the upcoming Android 12 update. Therefore, it is safe to say that these devices are in line with the latest upcoming Android 12 update. The list of the Infinix devices (Android 11) eligible for the upcoming Android 12 update –

• Infinix Hot 10i – Infinix Hot 10i is yet to release in India, but has been launched in other countries officially. It is expected to release in India in July 2021. Eligible for Android 12.
• Infinix Hot 10S – The Infinix Hot 10S was announced in April 2021 and was subsequently released in May 2021. It comes in two variants Hot 10S 4GB+64GB and 6GB+64GB. It is in line with the Android 12 update list.
• Infinix Hot 10S NFC – It was released in April 2021. Another variant of this device is upcoming. Both will be eligible for the Android 12 update.
• Infinix Hot 10T – The Infinix Hot 10T was officially announced in May 2021 but is unreleased yet. It will come with an Android 11 out-of-the-box making it eligible for the upcoming Android 12 update.
• Infinix Note 10 – The Infinix Note 10 was released in June 2021, this month. It is available in two variants online, the Infinix Note 10 4GB+64GB and 6GB+128GB. Both are in line with the Android 12 update list.
• Infinix Note 10 Pro – Another device released in June 2021 is the Infinix Note 10 Pro. It is also eligible for the Android 12 update.

Infinix devices released with Android 10

While the above Infinix devices/smartphones are guaranteed an Android 12 update as they were released with an Android 11 out-of-the-box, there are those that are uncertain/unconfirmed to receive the same as they were released with an Android 10 out-of-the-box.

The Infinix devices released with an Android 10 out-of-the-box are uncertain to receive the upcoming Android 12 update because these devices have not received even the Android 11 update till now. But, there is still a possibility that they’ll receive the Android 12 update. Hence, they are needed to be added to the list.

The Infinix devices released with an Android 10 out-of-the-box which may receive the upcoming Android 12 update are (None of the devices has received Android 11 yet)

• Infinix Smart HD 2021 – Released in December 2020. Has an Android 10 Go Edition.
• Infinix Smart 4 – Released in November 2020.
• Infinix Smart 4 Plus – Released in July 2020.
• Infinix Smart 5 – Released recently in February 2021.
• Infinix Note 7 – Released in September 2020 in India.
• Infinix Note 8i – Released in October 2020 officially. Yet to release in India.
• Infinix Hot 9 – Released in April 2020 officially.
• Infinix Hot 9 Pro – Released in May 2020 officially.
• Infinix Hot 9 Play – Released in April 2020 officially.
• Infinix Hot 10 – Released in September 2020 officially with two variants, Infinix Hot 10 4GB+64GB and 6GB+128GB.
• Infinix Hot 10 Play – Released recently in January 2021 officially.
• Infinix Hot 10 Lite – Released in October 2020 officially. Yet to release in India.
• Infinix Zero 8 – Released in August 2020. Yet to release in India.
• Infinix Zero 8i – Released in December 2020 officially.
• Infinix S5 Pro – Released in March 2020 officially.

The above-mentioned Infinix Smartphones are the devices that may or may not receive the upcoming major Android 12 update. From the lists, the devices with Android 11 out-of-the-box will most probably receive the Android 12 update while the devices with Android 10 out-of-the-box are uncertain to receive the same.

Time will tell which Infinix smartphones/devices will get the Android 12 update and which won’t. In the meantime, the only thing that Infinix users can do is wait.
