The Nokia 1 Plus Android 11 with "Go Edition", the device was released with Android 9 Pie out-of-the-box in February 2019, has now received its second major OS update in the form of Android 11 Go Edition. The Nokia 1 Plus first received the Android 10 update in April 2020 and it has now received the Android 11 update officially.
The Nokia 1 Plus was released with an Android 9 Pie out-of-the-box, so this update is its second and last major OS update as per the Android update policy of Nokia. As mentioned earlier, it first received the major Android 10 update in April 2020 and it has now received the second major Android update with Android 11 Go Edition.
Nokia usually rolls out the update in Waves to provide a smooth rollout. It did the same now as the Android 11 Go Edition update has been rolled out in waves.
Wave 1 includes all regions, except those listed below:
The above-listed regions/countries have NOT received the Android 11 Go Edition update due to some unknown reasons or due to pending approval if that is required.
But 30% of all the approved markets received the OS update on June 3rd, 50% received the update by June 4th. And by June 5th, 100% of the approved markets received the Android 11 Go Edition update.
The Nokia 1 Plus comes with a 5.45-inch Color IPS LCD screen. It consists of an 8 MP dual rear camera and a 5 MP front camera. Nokia 1 Plus was released with an Android 9 Pie out-of-the-box and received the Android 10 update in April 2020. As the Android 10 was officially launched in September 2019, it took Nokia 7 months to release the first major OS update with Android 10 for Nokia 1 Plus.
Now, the device has received its second major OS update with Android 11 Go Edition after the official release of Android 11 in September 2020. Therefore, it took Nokia around 8 months to release the second major OS update for Nokia 1 Plus.
Android 9 Pie - Launched | February 2019 |
Android 10 - First Update | April 2020, released |
Android 11 - Last Update | June 2021, released |
As mentioned earlier, Nokia 1 Plus was released with Android 9 Pie out-of-the-box. It received its first major update with Android 10 in April 2020. It has now received its second major update with the Android 11 Go Edition.
Since it has received two major OS updates, the chances of a third major update are unlikely. It will continue to receive Security updates but it may also be concluded that it is not in line with the Android 12 update list and Android 11 should probably be the last major OS update on this device.
