The latest news coming to the town that will come as a nice surprise for the Oppo A54 users in India is that the Oppo A54 has received the Android 11 based ColorOS 11 Beta version as per the official ColorOS Community.

The Oppo A54 which was released an Android 10 out-of-the-box in April 2021, has now received the Android 11 update with ColorOS 11 Beta version. This will be the first major OS update for this recently launched device, hence it is in line with the Android 12 update as well.

As mentioned above, the Oppo A54 was released with an Android 10 out-of-the-box in April 2021 despite the official release of Android 11 in September 2020. Therefore, Oppo had around 7 months to release the Oppo A54 with Android 11, but they didn't. Now, they have rectified that by giving the latest Android 11 Beta update with ColorOS 11 for the same device.

Oppo A54 ColorOS 11 Beta based on Android 11

The news broke out when the official ColorOS community of Oppo posted the details of the latest Android 11 based ColorOS 11 Beta update for the Oppo A54. It confirmed that the Android 11 Beta version for Oppo A54 is being rolled out in India.

The official statement from the ColorOS community was, "Hello, Super Fans! The first batch of A54 ColorOS 11 Beta Version based on Android 11 kicks off in India. If you want to try the Beta version, please submit your application."

Details about the ColorOS 11 update

The details of the Android 11 Beta update for the Oppo A54 (2021) as per the official ColorOS community are -

• Phone model: A54 (information about other models please follow the Community notice).
• Time: Apply from 16th June to 23rd June.
• Released Country: India.
• When receive the version: We will review your application in a week, after the application success, you will receive the update later.

How to apply for the Beta version?

• Confirm your phone has updated to the version (Detectable Version): A.07/A.09
• Click 'Settings'>> 'Software Update'>> Click the settings icon on the screen>> Apply for Beta Version>>Update Beta Version. And then follow the guide to apply. （If the application quota is full, please wait for the next round）

Some important points to note before applying the update -

• Please backup important data on the phone before updating to avoid data loss caused by incompatibility or other unforeseen circumstances.
• After updating to the latest Beta version, the operating system will do several actions to optimize your device automatically. It might lead to your device heating, lagging, and fast battery draining. We recommend you turn off the screen and charge your device for a whole night after its updated success. Or keep using the device and it will become normal within few days.
• Some third-party applications are not compatible with Android 11. Therefore, after updating, these applications might not be available or have technical issues including lagging and crashing down in your device. Please try to update these applications to the latest version in App Market.

Oppo A54 specifications

The Oppo A54 comes in three variants, Oppo A54 4GB + 64GB, 4GB + 128GB, and 6GB + 128GB. The Oppo A54 comes with a 6.51-inch Color IPS LCD screen with a punch hole notch. It consists of a 13 MP + 2 MP + 2 MP triple rear camera and a 16 MP front camera. It has a 2.3 GHz Octa-Core processor with a MediaTek Helio P35 chipset. The available RAM and the storage space available are as per the variants. It comes with a big battery size of 5000 mAh and an Android 10 out-of-the-box.

How long will it get updates?

As mentioned earlier, Oppo A54 was released with an Android 10 out-of-the-box. It will now receive its first major OS update with Android 11 based ColorOS 11 after the success of the Beta version.

Since it will have received only one major OS update, it may be concluded that it is still in line for the upcoming Android 12 update. Therefore, Oppo A54 will probably receive one more major OS update with Android 12. And, it will be the second/last major OS update for Oppo A54.
