The trending news from Oppo’s ColorOS side is that Oppo has reportedly released the ColorOS 12 Beta update based on Android 12 for the Oppo Find X3 Pro devices in China on July 26th, 2021 reported by some users on Twitter.

The Android 12 Developer Preview Program was launched in May 2021 by Google at its I/O. Oppo was quick to start testing the Oppo Find X3 Pro under the program with the device getting the Android 12 Beta updates.

Now, in August 2021, Oppo has released the Oppo Find X3 Pro ColorOS 12 Beta update based on Android 12 in China. The update will soon be available to the global variants reportedly.

The Oppo Find X3 Pro was released on 11th March 2021 with an Android 11 out-of-the-box.

Oppo was actually among the firsts to release ColorOS based on Android 12 which is available only on the Oppo Find X3 Pro. Oppo is working closely with Google to upgrade software experience as per the official press release.

How long will it get updates?

This is a Software update for the Oppo Find X3 Pro and not the major/stable OS update as it already has an Android 11 OS.

The Oppo Find X3 Pro will receive three years of major OS updates and four years of Security updates.

Therefore, Android 12 will be the first major OS update on this device and it is also eligible to be on the Android 13 and Android 14 update list as well.
