Oneplus was known for its Smooth & Fast UI, which OxygenOS is commonly known for In fact, their Phone performance over the years was even better than Google’s Pixel devices. Oneplus not only provides a great hardware set but its software is the main reason why Oneplus has many loyal customers who refuse to switch.

OnePlus’ OxygenOS was released on 30 January 2015 with Hydrogen OS for Chinese Markets. The latter merged with OxygenOS in September 2016 as a single cohesive Operating System.

Since 2015, OxygenOS has grown from strength to strength with a loyal community of Oneplus Loyalists.

With Oneplus announcing the merger with Oppo, not only do they combine as companies but include the merger of two Android Operating Systems.

It’s been just a few days into October, as we anticipate the release of Android 12, Oneplus has finally let go of the wraps of the OxygenOS 12 update which happens to be the first major release post the integration with Oppo ColorOS interface.

In its forum release, Oneplus stresses how pandemic brought in a lot of changes despite the uncertainty yet we were brought closer to the near and dear one across seas and distances closer to our loved ones while they unwind that OxygenOS 12 brings in a most well-rounded experience to help streamline user’s day-to-day work thereby providing an enriching experience.

OxygenOS 12 –has been optimized based on their burdenless philosophy in three aspects: Work, Rest and Play thereby providing a stress-free environment to chill out.

In a bid to introduce a refreshed new UI OxygenOS 12, it took inspiration from James Turrell’s artworks which enhance the use and ingrains power through resilient design:

List of New Features Added to OxygenOS 12 :

• Light and Space:

This feature analyses the light and space and creates a safe and good environment for users, it enhances user readability and ease of use. In addition, the soft light and shadow minimize the unnecessary distractions in the UI, thus providing a more comfortable experience while using a smartphone. Zen mode and newly introduced private safe and protected features provide a sense of security and mental comforts through visual changes.

2. Geometric Deconstruction

Geometric deconstruction provides simplified visuals through straightforward typographical images users can easily get key messages.

3. Neumorphism

This feature brings a more premium feel by adding shadows, subtle gradients and customizing each visual according to user scenarios, building a high and beautiful interface.

4. Shelf and OnePlus Scout

This feature gives access to health information like calories and Heart rate etc., this health card is connected with the user’s OnePlus watch. The shelf can be customized with features cards of different sizes and background images. OnePlus scout makes the overall experience burdenless and smoother than ever.

5. Note

The note is a very popular work tool, Now OnePlus added additional useful features to it to make work easier and more efficient.

6. Work-life balance

Work-life balance (WLB 2.0) is upgraded with new features. In the WLB there are two modes, life mode and work mode to differentiate works, accordingly, it will allow messages and notifications. WLB separates user life and works easily and clearly based on your priorities and increases productivity.

7. Dark mode – Variants

Dark mode has become quite popular in recent days, now oxygen OS providing 3 levels of dark mode, Gentle-medium-enhanced dark modes.

8. Game-toolbox 2.0

This feature supports voice modulation in five popular games (PUBG/ CODM/LOLM/Free fire/Fortnite) enabling user to change their voice during in-game charts and providing privacy while adding more fun to the game.

9. Canvas AOD 2.0

Canvas AOD is the most popular feature and it allows user to show off their personality. canvas AOD 2.0 is the updated version of canvas AOD with new features like brushes and line colours for better customization and it is fun too.

10. Safe and reliable, improved protection

OnePlus OS promisingly provides high security for their users,this time too its providing safe and reliability with improved protection.

This is the end of Oxygen OS as they integrate to a single code base with hope remaining that Oneplus can bring Canvas AOD (upgrades) and WLB 2.0 to the table in the future without letting it go for a whirl in Color OS updates.
