Samsung Galaxy A30s, A20 Android 11 update starts rolling out

The users of Samsung Galaxy A30s and Galaxy A20 woke up to a piece of relatively good news that their devices have now bagged the major/stable Android 11 update with the One UI 3.1 skin reportedly. The budget smartphones of Samsung, the Samsung Galaxy A30s, and the Samsung Galaxy A20 were both released with an Android 9 Pie out-of-the-box in September 2019 and April 2019 respectively.

The Samsung Galaxy A30s and the Samsung Galaxy A20 both received the major Android 10 update in April 2020. So, keeping up with the unofficial tradition of giving the updates for Galaxy A30s and A20 in the same month, Samsung has now released the stable Android 11 update for Galaxy A30s and A20 in Russia reportedly.

According to the latest reports and information, the Samsung Galaxy A30s and the Samsung Galaxy A20 have received the major/stable Android 11 update in Russia. One active user on the official Samsung Community has also reported about the latest Android 11 updates in Russia for these devices.

The Samsung Galaxy A30s which has bagged the major Android 11 update with One UI 3.1 skin comes with a build number A307FNXXU2CUF2. Along with the update, a May 2021 Android Security patch has also been released for this device. The update and the update log are currently available to the Samsung Galaxy A30s users in Russia but they are expected to be released in other regions soon in the coming weeks.

The Samsung Galaxy A20 which has also received the stable Android 11 update with One UI 3.1 skin reportedly, comes with a build number A205FNPUUACUF1. Along with the update, a June 2021 Android Security patch has also been released for this device. Like the Samsung Galaxy A30s, the Android 11 update for Samsung Galaxy A20 is also available to Russian users as of now but it is soon expected to hit the other regions too.

The Samsung Galaxy A30s comes with a 6.4-inch Color Super AMOLED screen with a water-drop notch. It consists of a 25 MP + 8 MP + 5 MP triple rear camera and a 16 MP front camera. It has a 1.8 GHz Octa-Core processor with a Samsung Exynos 7904 chipset. The available RAM is 4 GB for both variants. The storage space available is 64 GB for one variant and 128 GB for the other. It comes with a battery size of 4000 mAh and an Android 9 Pie out-of-the-box.

The Samsung Galaxy A30s was released with an Android 9 Pie out-of-the-box in September 2019 and received the Android 10 update in April 2020. As the Android 10 was officially launched in September 2019, it took Samsung around 7 months to release the first major OS update with Android 10 for the Samsung Galaxy A30s.

How long will they get updates?

As mentioned above, both the devices, Samsung Galaxy A30s and Samsung Galaxy A20 were released with an Android 9 Pie out-of-the-box. They received their first major OS update in the same month with Android 10 in April 2020. Now, they have received their second/last major OS update this month with Android 11.

As they both have bagged two major OS updates now, the chances of a third update with Android 12 are highly unlikely. Therefore, this update will be their last major OS update and hence they are NOT in line with the upcoming Android 12 update.
