Sony has a few devices in the market as compared to other tech giants like Samsung and Redmi. However, Sony is way ahead of those OEMs who launch a few devices like One Plus, LG but doing great when it comes to the android updates.
Earlier, Sony Devices are used to be criticized by the users for not rolling out the Android update regularly. They used to launch new devices instead of updating the android version in the existing devices. But now, the situation is absolutely different. They are not only releasing android updates regularly but they are the first among the OEMs that already launch Android 11 for all the devices.
After updating all the eligible devices up to Android 11, they are now looking forward to the android 12 update. however, there is no official announcement from Sony yet.
Sony was one of the major players in Android a few years back and went head-to-head with the likes of Samsung, they are exceptionally known for Slim design with water rating & well-rounded cameras.
Still, Sony's primary selling factor is to make professional-grade camera smartphones with a pocketable form factor for Professional Photographers and videographers. Some of their devices have a 4K display which lets you attach as a viewfinder for DSLR cameras.
Sony has a track of two major android updates. Devices like Xperia L4 and Xperia 5 were launched with Android 9 pie, already bagged with two major Android updates and are unlikely to receive android 12 updates.
While devices like Sony Xperia 1 III and Sony Xperia 5 III are launched with Android 11 and will definitely receive Android 12 update. You can check the complete list of such devices down below.
Speaking of Android 12, Sony doesn't launch any early access program yet. they seem to lag behind in this, but we expect that they will launch soon. Android updates in Sony are well taken care of generally released occasionally from time to time.

It is excepted that Android 12 will be rolled out in pixel devices in September 2021. but as mentioned that they haven't launched any beta version or any early access program yet. so we can assume that we may have to wait for a bit long for Android 12.
However, Sony doesn't make any official announcement regarding this, Sony Android 12 updates may arrive soon as, the pixel devices get the stable update, approx 2-3 months later for its current flagship device.
