Poco F2 Pro MIUI 12.5 update

The latest news in town is that the Poco F2 Pro has received the stable MIUI 12.5 update globally this week. According to the reports, the latest MIUI 12.5 brings some tweaks and customizations to the base MIUI 12.

Last month, in June 2021, the Poco F2 Pro received this MIUI 12.5 stable update in Europe. And its Chinese variant, the Xiaomi Redmi K30 Pro had received the same in May 2021.

The global stable update for Poco F2 Pro with MIUI 12.5 comes with a build number V12.5.1.0.RJKMIXM. The size for this stable update is 1 GB. The update is based on Android 11.

Along with the stable MIUI 12.5 update, a June 2021 Android Security patch has also been released for the Poco F2 Pro.

• Fix: Notification badges weren't updated for incoming notifications on a locked device.

Poco F2 Pro [Major OS updates]

The Poco F2 Pro was officially released with an Android 10 out-of-the-box in May 2020. It received its first major OS update with Android 11 in November 2020.

Now, in June 2021, it has received a software update globally with Android 11 based stable MIUI 12.5.

The Poco F2 Pro comes in two variants, the Poco F2 Pro 6GB+128GB and 8GB+256GB. It comes with a 6.67-inch Color Super AMOLED and Corning Gorilla Glass 5. It consists of a 64MP+5MP+13MP+2MP quadruple rear camera and a 20MP pop-up front camera. It has a 2.84 GHz Octa-Core processor with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chipset. The available RAM and the storage space are as per the variants. It comes with a battery size of 4700 mAh and an Android 10 out-of-the-box.

How long will it get updates?

Since the Poco F2 Pro has received only one major OS update, it may be concluded that it is still in line for the upcoming Android 12 update. Therefore, the Poco F2 Pro will probably receive one more major OS update with Android 12. And, it will be the second/last major OS update for it.
